ADRIAN ‘Ady’ Robinson, who played for New Earswick All Blacks for most of his life, suffered an earache last week. He thought it was just a cold, but his condition deteriorated and despite being taken to intensive care, Ady lost his fight for life.

He was a well-known local sportsman who spent much time contributing to his community. Hopefully , Ady’s family will be able to take some comfort by remembering the sort of life he led and in the hope he has given to others through his decision to be an organ donor.

It’s exactly five years since we launched our Lifesavers Campaign, to encourage more people to join the Organ Donor Register. Since then many thousands have signed up, but many thousands more are still needed.

People who think of others, people like Ady Robinson. May he rest in peace.
