1 to 3) Scenes from the Queen's visit to York in 1971, for the city's 1900th anniversary celebrations
4) Workmen prepare a makeshift balcony ahead of the celebrations
5) Okay, this one doesn't show Micklegate Bar itself - but it's from the same set.....
6) A bus inches its way through the bar in 1976
7) A general view from 1986
8) And another view, from 1975...
9) ... And from the other side, in 1994
10) Street performers in 1973
11) There's no date on this one, but it's pre-1974, as that's the year when The Punch Bowl expanded into the butcher's shop on the corner on the right hand side. The very pronounced towers are due to a predecessor to photoshop - pen markings to enhance the contrast.
12) Monk Bar in 1988...
13) And in 1974....
14) And from the Goodramgate side, in 1973
