A HISTORIC church window which was badly damaged in a storm earlier this year has been restored to its former glory and re-dedicated in a special ceremony.

Part of the East Window of St Lawrence's Church was smashed over the central altar when high winds hit in February, and more damage was done to the remaining glass before scaffolding could be put up to protect it.

But now craftsmen from the Barley Studios have repaired the damage, and a re-dedication service was held on Sunday to celebrate the stained glass window's restoration to its place in the church.

Church council member Iain Milnes said: "It's very nice to have the window back in place.

"The Barley Studios also fixed various other parts of the window which had not been repaired very will in the past.

"It's quite morale boasting for the church members to have the window back in place looking as it should."
