I AM greatly disappointed that disabled scooters cannot be carried in York taxis.
On Monday evening I rang to order a taxi to take me to the station on Tuesday morning. I asked for a disabled taxi as I was taking my scooter as opposed to my push wheelchair so that I could be independent.
I was told they no longer took scooters in the disabled taxis and the only way I could take it was in the boot. I am unable to break my scooter down; I am not strong enough.
My husband had to come with me and make sure I got my train on time.
I was travelling to London. All I can say is that I was treated with the utmost respect by the London taxis.
