A TEACHER catapulted into the national spotlight with his cover version of an internet sensation has put his spin on another hit for Children in Need.

Tadcaster Grammar School's Adam Dawson hit the headlines two years ago when he recorded his own video of Psy's Gangnam Style.

The South Korean's one hit wonder has been viewed more than two billion times on You Tube, and its popularity around the globe saw schools, sports clubs and workforces make their own.

But none were more successful than Adam's parody Tad Gram Style, which received tens of thousands of hits.

The English teacher has now penned his own version of Pharrell Williams' Happy to raise thousands of pounds for the BBC charity and emulate his online success.

He said: "It is incredible to be able to pick up where we left off with Tad Gram Style.

"There are so many talented people in this school and it still amazes me what can be achieved when everyone pulls together.

"It is not easy to put something of this size together whilst teaching a full timetable, but I learnt a lot from Tad Gram Style and decided this time to release the song as a single."

The video features Pudsey Bear, presenters from BBC Radio York, Tadcaster Albion FC players and the team's mascot, Taddy Bear, who shows off his break-dancing moves in the video.

Adam added: "For me it’s a great song which raises the spirits, makes you want to sing and dance and that’s what it is all about; pulling together to make a real difference to children’s lives."

The song will be released as a single on November 10 in time for Children In Need four days later.

The school hopes to raise £10,000 and achieve half a million hits on YouTube.
