PEOPLE in North Yorkshire are being asked to help in the search for Britain’s national bird.
David Lindo, known as The Urban Birder, is a TV presenter, broadcaster, writer and naturalist, and has launched the search for the nation’s favourite bird.
The voting process asks people to first pick their six favourite birds from a list of 60, before the closing date of November 30.
In January the six finalists will be announced and the public can vote again for their overall favourite.
Everyone who votes will get a free digital copy of wild bird magazine ‘Bird Watching’ and will be entered into a draw to win a week birding in Shetland, a pair of Leica Trinovid binoculars, subscriptions to Bird Watching Magazine and The Urban Birder t-shirts.
