A FRIEND who plays drums in a wedding band has been told that the drums have to go, and can only be replaced by an imitation electronic version. The venue? The Merchant Adventurers Hall, a popular wedding venue.
Why? Apparently the council has received a complaint from an individual who lives nearby. No name or address given.
Oh dear, someone who chose to live in the city centre, near a popular historic wedding venue and wants wedding music to dispense with the drummer.
Sounds to me like such people prefer the sound of their own voice rather than the sounds from a happy wedding.
Please try to show a modicum of common sense.
Mrs Lesley Jones, Temple Lane, York.
