MAGICIANS from across the country headed to York at the weekend to show off their tricks and share their secrets.

They were in the city to attend Sunday's Magic: Unleashed 2014 convention at the York Priory Centre.

Anyone interested in the secrets of magic - as a hobby, professional or performer - was welcome.

The event was organised by two local magicians, Martin Hunt and Mark Foster, and featured star speaker and internationally renowned US magic man Alex Pandrea.

Meanwhile, UK magicians Chris Congreave and Wayne Goodman held magic presentations.

Mr Foster, of Mission Magic in Riccall, said: "We're delighted to hold this international convention in my home city.

"It means delegates can enjoy the city's shops and sights as well as attending the convention."
