It's time to wind back the clock to the 1980s once again, for the final gallery in this series of old photographs.

Over the past couple of months, we've displayed hundreds of photos from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and now the 1980s. If you missed the previous galleries, there are links at the foot of this article.

In the next few weeks, we will be launching a new series of galleries, so watch this space! Until then, don't forget that we also run old photos and stories every Monday in our history section.

One last note... A few people have asked why all these photos are black and white, even though colour film was widely available in the 1980s. The answer is that even then, most newspapers (including The Evening Press) printed only in black and white. In our case, the change came when we moved to our new Walmgate printing press, and there are a few colour photos included below.
