SCARECROWS have sprung up in Copmanthorpe as the village prepares to stage its first trail this weekend.
Based on the theme of people and jobs, the walk will around the village will take up to an hour to complete and will feature dozens of scarecrows provided by local businesses, community groups and residents.
The day is being run by Sprouts Community Garden, a project finalist in this year’s Press Community Pride Awards.
The project follows on from a string of successful events held by Sprouts, including their regular crop swaps where local people share their home-grown produce.
Organiser Rebecca Craven said: "I’m delighted with how many people of all ages in the community have got involved with the Scarecrow Trail."
The event is free, with trail sheets available from the Sprouts garden on School Lane from 10am on Saturday. For details, visit facebook.com/copsprouts.
