YOUNG readers around York have just two weeks to complete this year's summer reading challenge.
The Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge gives young people the chance to win a Hudl tablet from Explore York Libraries and Archives, by reading six books in two months.
Everyone who completes the challenge by Sunday, September 14, will receive a medal and certificate, with prizes for every book read, and a draw to find the winner of the tablet.
The challenge is open to children aged between four and 12 years old, but anyone younger can take part, to win stickers and a certificate.
Frances Postlethwaite, children and young people’s librarian, said: "We’re delighted with the interest in this year’s Challenge! We’re very keen to see as many young readers as possible complete the challenge and get the credit they deserve and the most fun possible from the wealth of wonderful books available."
Summer Reading Challenge brochures can be picked up from any library, Shine magazine or go to exploreyork.org.uk for more details.
