SCORES of youngsters hurled themselves into Pocklington Rugby Union Club’s popular annual rugby summer school.
The event at the club’s Percy Road headquarters has played a key part of the summer programme for several years.
As in the past, the two days of fun activities provided newcomers a taster for the game and also helped to further hone the skills of established players.
The event was supported by current England international prop, Rob Webber.
The former Pocklington mini rugby player recalled taking his first steps on the road to an international career by attending one of the club’s early summer schools in the 1990s.
He dispatched some of his England training gear as part of the prizes given at the end of the two days.
A team of qualified coaches and helpers, including coaches and development officers from the club’s junior section, senior players and guest coaches supervised the try-it sessions.
