A REQUIEM Mass will be staged at St Wilfrid’s Roman Catholic Church in Duncombe Place, York, at 6pm on Monday to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
Faure’s Requiem, sung by the Rudgate Singers, will be the musical setting for the Solemn Mass, which will be in Latin and offered for all who died in that war and in subsequent conflicts.
There will be a military presence with buglers, and Fr Richard Duffield will preach.
