A LITTLE bit of Gatsby-style glamour is coming to York this Friday when a city centre bar celebrates its first birthday.
Banyan Bar and Kitchen on Little Stonegate is marking the anniversary on Friday, August 1 with a Prohibition-themed party at the bar from 7pm.
The Yorkshire bar and restaurant business, Arc Inspirations, invested £1 million in a converting a former Methodist Chapel into its flagship bar and restaurant.
Now staff Hannah, Karen and Dom are planning to indulge their love of dressing up by bringing a splash of 1920s America to York.
They said there is no need for guests to dress up, as the bar staff have done it for them, and the first 100 people through the door will be treated to a complimentary drink.
