PUPILS from schools all over the UK and Ireland descended on the University of York to take part in a residential Salters’ Chemistry Camp.
About 60 teenagers were given the chance to participate in a variety of activities and experiments exploring such subjects as why jellyfish glow in certain lights and determining how much copper is in an old 2p coin.
The three-day event combined lectures and practical work in university labs.
The camps first started in 1998 and almost 9,000 students have taken part in that time at York and other universities.
