A PAIR of holiday makers had a lucky escape yesterday when their light plane ditched in a field near Full Sutton.
The two men - John Northen and his friend Dave Allan - were setting off for a holiday in Calais, in northern France, when their two seater plane failed to take off from Full Sutton airfield.
Residents and passersby reported the seeing the plane nose-down in a field near the southern end of the village early this morning and Humberside Police were called just before, and confirmed that the had come down close to airfield near Pocklington.
Both the 63 year old pilot and his passenger were unhurt in the incident, police added.
