A CROSSBOW was one of a number of objects thrown from a first-floor flat by a distressed man this morning.
Police were forced to cordon off the home when they attended the incident on Rawson Street, Harrogate - along with crews from the fire and ambulance services - to protect residents.
Police negotiators also attended the scene at 9am to speak with the man in his 50s.
The incident was resolved at noon when the man came out of the premises through a window on the stairwell.
He was not injured but was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
