IS IT my imagination or is the goose problem in York even worse than it was last year?
The riverside paths are a minefield, Rowntree Park is no-go area and worst of all the Memorial Gardens are a disgrace.
Once again the work of the gardeners has been ruined and the path leading to the memorial itself is awful, this is particularly appalling in this centenary year of the outbreak of the First World War.
Last year the council said that it would investigate using plants the geese wouldn’t like to eat – but they’re not eating them, they’re sitting on them.
Goodness knows what visitors to the city think, it really is a mess.
