Bitter-sweet memories of wartime romance were recalled at a dance to commemorate the D-Day landings.
The De Grey Rooms at York Theatre Royal were a popular meeting place as Europe waited for the Allied Invasion of Europe.
The spirit of those heady days was recaptured for a night of nostalgia by Mr Swing's Dance Orchestra.
Events Co-Ordinator Lindsay Whitwell said: "I am always being told stories by people who came to the De Grey rooms to dance before I was even born.
"It is a beautiful venue and one that holds fond memories for many who lived through the war and tried to lead a normal life and find love and enjoyment by dancing the night away."
