Three people were rescued from a car after a crash with a lorry on the A1 north-bound near Catterick.

Fire crews from Ripon, Bedale, Richmond, and Northallerton were called out when the alarm was raised just after 11.40am on Saturday.

The two women and a youth were not trapped but were given first aid in the wreckage. They escaped with minor injuries and taken to hospital. The 999 crews made the car and HGV safe.
