Two students from Bootham School, who took part in the mass work experience "Takeover Day" last November, have seen their work become part of the promotions of a National Festival of Archaeology.
Charlotte Ellery and Lisa Surmenko, spent time with the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) and while they were there designed a newsletter to help the Council promote its 24th annual festival.
The CBA were so pleased with the girls’ work that they have sent it out to more than 2,000 organisations nationally.
Charlotte and Lisa said they had learnt a lot while with the CBA about marketing and event management. Charlotte said: “The thing that impressed us both was just how many people you have to involve in order to make an event successful.”
Lisa added: “I was also struck by the need to use traditional letters and mail-outs, and not just rely on technology to do the work!”
