I NOTICED the other day how the council had removed one of the dog-waste bins from the side of the Foss, upstream from the Monkgate roundabout.
This footpath is used a lot, especially by people with dogs.
I asked why a well-used bin had been removed, only to be told that it was too labour-intensive to send someone on foot to empty the bin.
St Johns car park, on the other hand, has two dog waste bins within 100 yards, plus two large refuse bins near by, which are easy to maintain because they can drive up to them and empty them.
Surely the bins need to be sited for the users of the bins not for the convenience of the people emptying them?
