FORMER Pocklington School pupils turned well known classical performers will return to perform at the school.
The Rotary Club of Pocklington and Market Weighton and Pocklington School are staging the concert on May 11.
The first part of the evening will feature a Mendelssohn piano trio played by former music students Ioana Ilie, Giorgi Chiriac and Lucy Butcher all of whom are pursuing musical careers.
The second part of the evening will be a piano recital by the internationally known Alexandra Dariescu. She will be returning to play at the Royal Albert Hall as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra next year.
She currently holds the 2013 Woman of the Future award for Arts and Culture and has been selected by Forbes Magazine as one of he “30 under 30”.
The concert will be held in the Tom Stoppard Theatre and starts at 7.30 pm. Tickets can be obtained from the box office at Pocklington School, advance booking is advised. Call 01759 321200, or email boxoffice@pocklingtonschool.com
