A NEW inspector has joined Selby police station.

Inspector Vicky Taylor, who will be covering the rural district, has served with North Yorkshire Police since 2001. She has worked across the force in front line roles at Harrogate, Ripon and York, as well as the force’s Roads Policing Group, and has worked as a uniformed police officer and in CID.

InspTaylor has also worked with the Deputy Chief Constable as his Staff Officer, where she had the portfolios for drugs, ACPO Terrorism, and customer focus.

She said: “I am delighted to be taking up this post with the opportunities it offers.

“I am looking forward to meeting the local communities and working with partners to establish their priorities and see how we can best help them.

"I will be building on the fantastic work of the dedicated team of police officers, special constables, police staff and volunteers who have made the district one of the safest places to live and work in the country.

“Having previously lived in the area, it’s great to have the opportunity to come back and work here.”
