A TEAM of intrepid fundraisers are attempting to walk nearly two and a half marathons back to back through the Yorkshire Dales in just 24 hours.
Kevin Webb who works at Churchills Estate Agent, along with his all-male teammates, Colin Burn, Christian Hall and Mark Golding will try to complete Oxfam’s 100km challenge at the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Kevin admits he is by no means the most seasoned athlete.
“I did a half-marathon in January, but apart from that this is the first real physical challenge I’ve done.”
But he hopes his teammates will help boost morale on the challenge.
“Mark Golding is a detective inspector, and a triathlete. He’s incredibly fit, so hopefully he at least will get me through!”
Kevin is training three to four times a week at the gym, and running up to 25km in preparation. During the walk, he will have a support team which he and other group members will be able to access at eight checkpoints throughout the course.
The group are aiming to raise £1500 through their Just Giving page (justgiving.com/thefools).
The page is so named, says Kevin, because “We think we’re all crazy fools for doing it!”
