A YORK boy who developed narcolepsy after being given the swine flu jab is now raising money for the charity which has supported him and his family.

Eight-year-old Ben Foy, of Strensall, can fall asleep suddenly up to 20 times a day as a result of narcolepsy and he is now, along with the help of his mum Lindsey, raising money for Narcolepsy UK.

Lindsey said: "They have given us so much information about what to expect as Ben gets older. There has always been someone at the end of the phone when we wanted to talk to someone which has been a huge support to us.

"Any money we can raise for Narcolepsy UK will be great."

Ben and his mum have organised a raffle at Strensall Services, where Lindsey used to work, where they have raffled off a giant Toblerone. The family have also organised an Elvis tribute night and Lindsey will be running the York 10K on August 3 later this year.
