POLICE have tonight rescued a young woman from the River Ouse in York.
The 18-year-old was said to be in a distressed state and was reported missing from a York address at about 7.15pm.
Following a search, she was found close to St George's Field car park at about 7.45pm, where police tried to negotiate with her and she threatened to enter the river.
The woman entered the water, but was quickly rescued by North Yorkshire Police officers, and has since been taken to hospital as a precaution.
