Sir, – What a disgraceful decision to sack Durham manager Adam Furness. Adam had assembled a good group of players that were competing well in the Northern league playing quality football.
This is what happens when chairmen/owners with big egos get involved in football clubs and it is sad that this is happening even at nonleague level.
No doubt somebody will be appointed who was a twice unused sub for Newcastle United in the 1980s or some other ex-professional footballer who won’t be around longer than a season.
Good luck Adam. I’m sure some other club will benefit from your coaching methods and man-management skills.
DAVID FENWICK Durham
