A NEW website allowing people to back York’s bid to become a UNESCO City of Media Arts has been launched.
The city’s application will be submitted on March 20 and, if it succeeds, would make York only the second city – after Lyon in France – to hold the status and see it join the global Creative Cities network.
City of York Council said it would unlock more investment in arts and boost York’s tourism appeal.
The website - mediacityyork.com - details York’s credentials and will allow residents to support the bid, and highlight what they feel makes the city special.
More information is also available by following @mediacityyork on twitter.
