Storyteller Eden Ballantyne will be weaving his tales around the portraits at Beningbrough Hall, near York, tomorrow and on Saturday.

Eden, a professional storyteller from Stories Alive, will be telling a brand new tale composed especially for Beningbrough, using the setting of the National Trust property to give voices to the people in the portraits, and reveal the stories behind the art.

Beningbrough’s popular Artrageous workshop will return on Sunday from 1pm to 3pm, helping children to make their own family portraits.

Learning officer Sue Jordan said: “We are very excited to have Eden here this half-term to tell a whole new story about the wonderful collection on display at Beningbrough.

"Telling stories is a great way for children to engage with the art in a fun and entertaining way. Hopefully it will also inspire them to make their own creations in the Artrageous workshops too.”

The hall, gallery and gardens will open from 11am to 3.30pm until Sunday. From March 1, the property will open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 5.30pm for the main season.
