So Coun Sonja Crisp’s idea of consultation is to engage the people affected in Heworth Without after advertising on the worldwide web that the city’s biggest Tour de France camp site is to be on Monk Stray (The Press, February 7).
To all the people thinking of attending the belated so-called ‘consultation’, I say do not bother. Coun Crisp and her colleagues will have already made their minds up a la Lendal Bridge, the green belt, the Arts Barge, King’s Square, etc.
Also another major problem for the people living near Monk Stray is they are not in a Labour ward so their opinions do not count in the eyes of the ruling cabinet.
There is only one nasty party in York and it is Labour.
