THERE is no need to demolish Stonebow House, a York campaign group says. It could just be done up.
The York Sustainable Development Project says the building could easily be converted into affordable apartments, restaurants, bars and shops, with a garden on top.
To improve its appearance, meanwhile, the group suggests painting it in a patchwork of bright primary colours, like Hundertwasser House in Vienna. That would certainly be a cheap and colourful solution, although perhaps not to everyone’s taste.
We look forward to many more suggestions coming forward in future.
