A YORKSHIRE MEP is to speak at York Cemetery’s refurbished chapel as part of International Women’s Week.
Linda McAvan will meet women for drinks and canapes from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, March 7.
She will be discussing issues affecting their day-to-day lives. York Labour Party women’s officer Pat Wills said: “The opportunity for a European slant will also provide an added stimulus.
“Linda will talk at 7.45pm on how Europe can help and indeed, has helped, raise the status of women in the UK and what can be done to support our roles in the future.”
Tickets, costing £3.50 each, are available from Caitlin O’Kelly at the UYLC Student Centre, James College, University of York, or on the door.
