IT was a case of “Beanie there, done that” for these girls from Elvington Church of England Primary School when they sold Beanie toys to raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice.
The pupils from Class 6 met hospice mascot Lenny The Bear as they handed over the £240 they collected by selling the toys for £1 each at Christmas.
Lenny, along with his minder, the hospice’s deputy retail manager Leanne Maycock, received the money from the pupils, who enthusiastically organised the selling of the little toys in the school. They included Father Christmas, reindeers, snowmen and polar bears.
Leanne said: “The girls did a brilliant job selling our Christmas beanies to raise funds for St Leonard’s.
“We are very grateful to them, to the school staff and to all the parents who supported the hospice so well. Lenny is happy that his cuddly Christmas friends have found such good homes in Elvington.”
