Brayton Players will present Dick Whittington for their annual show next week and for one member of the cast it will be an extra special production.
Celebrating her 30th anniversary in the players’ production will be Vanessa Smith, who first appeared as a 12-year-old in the chorus line.
For the past few years she has played Blunder The Idiot and jokingly says she’s typecast. Over the years it has been a family affair for the Smiths with Vanessa’s husband, Andrew, and nine year old son, Elliot, who this year plays a rat, taking part.
“I’ve enjoyed every production and I really look forward to panto time” said Vanessa who is now head of costumes and works at Selby War Memorial Hospital.
The show opens on Tuesday, at 7.15pm at Brayton Community Centre and continues each evening until Saturday, when there will also be a matinee performance at 2.15pm.
Tickets, priced at £6 and £4, are available from Brayton Community Centre and Brayton Post Office, and by phoning 01757 703600.
