WATER bills in East Yorkshire will be lower than expected this year, Yorkshire Water have confirmed.
The bills will rise by an average of £6 instead of the planned £12 following industry regulator Ofwat’s decision.
Work in Bridlington will also continue into the next financial year, with £4.5 million to be spent on a new pumping station and storm water tunnel, as well as a new coastal pipe to improve the quality of the sea around bathing beaches.
