IS IT just me who thinks George Hudson Street is a complete mess and an embarrassment to our beautiful city?
It has been almost a year since the some of the council workers moved out of their old accommodation in this street into their new £44 million offices.
This street has become a main thoroughfare since the closure of Lendal Bridge and this awful sight is what our well-needed visitors are greeted with.
Surely City of York Council can afford to give these buildings a lick of paint and do something with the windows? Perhaps some artwork or some more advertising for the unnecessary changes our beautiful squares?
Also, the old council buildings in North Street are being converted into yet more offices that will probably stand idle for years, as others do in the area. Perhaps some well-needed affordable housing would have been a better use for these buildings?
