YORK Central MP Hugh Bayley has toured the new Park&Ride site at Poppleton Bar to see how work is progressing.
He was shown plans for the new electric buses that First York will operate in partnership with City of York Council in order to win Green Bus funding, as well as the plugs for electric cars being installed at Poppleton Bar and other locations throughout the city.
Mr Bayley said: “The recent flooding in the UK has made us all aware of the impact of climate change on towns and cities across the country. By switching to electric vehicles, people can save money on their fuel costs and help the environment at the same time.”
The new electric charging points can also be found at Union Terrace, and Nunnery Lane car parks and Monks Cross, Grimston Bar and Designer Outlet Park and Ride sites.
