DRIVERS and pedestrians face another month of disruption, after the completion date for roadworks in part of York was delayed.
Following the completion of the housing development at Tedder Road and Slessor Road in Acomb, residents have been waiting for the highway to be improved by developer Barratts.
The works include replacing kerbs; completing the surface course on footways; relaying speed tables; surveying road gullies; installing two new speed tables; and completely resurfacing the carriageways.
City of York Councillor, Sue Galloway, said the work had been scheduled for completion by October, then by Christmas, but had now been delayed again.
"The council has now given the developers until the end of January 2007 to complete the work. If this work is not finished by this date, then the council will do the work and charge Barratts."
