A MAN who allegedly fired an airgun at police during an armed stand-off in York has appeared in court.
Charles Edward Wallace, 34, was arrested after armed North Yorkshire Police officers were called to a house in Osbaldwick Lane on Friday, to reports he had “barricaded himself in the living room” with an air rifle, York Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.
Wallace was charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence against a police officer.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance at York Crown Court on February 17.
