TWO people from York and one from Harrogate have been arrested in connection with a fraud investigation centred on a theatre.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the investigation was launched at the request of Leeds City Council, and involves Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House.
A police spokesman said a 44-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from York had been arrested, along with a 51-year-old man from Harrogate.
Acting Detective Inspector Marc Bowes said: "We began an investigation into allegations of fraud last year after information was passed to the police by Leeds City Council.
“Three people have been arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently on police bail pending further enquiries. We are not in a position to give any further details about the nature of the allegations at this stage."
A Leeds City Council spokeswoman said: “There is currently an ongoing police investigation into an issue relating to a partner organisation of Leeds City Council, and therefore we cannot comment any further at this stage.”
Nobody at the theatre would comment on the investigation.
