ALONG with some work friends I attended the panto Snow White at the Grand Opera House on Tuesday, December 17.
This production was especially for people with disabilities, autism etc.
On arrival the staff were so helpful, it was unbelievable. There was a chill-out room provided if people required time out.
The young lady I support used this room a lot and was able to nip in and nip out when needed. She was able to wander up and down the aisles, dance, sing, clap and just be herself.
It was such a relaxed atmosphere, excellent facilities and a thoroughly enjoyable time for all who attended the performance.
It is such a shame there aren’t more places and activities that encourage people with a disability to just be themselves.
A wonderful day was had by all. A big thank you to all involved in this production and hope there are many more to come.
