GOOLE High School is to host an auction in aid of an ambitious project that will take its students to the skies.
A flight in a vintage aircraft and a course of archery lessons are some of the lots included at the auction of promises to raise money for the school’s Spirit of Goole scheme.
The project began in 2012 and will see pupils and adult volunteers construct a fully functional biplane by the end of this year. A total of £50,000 is required to complete the aircraft and the auction is just one of many events that will take place to raise the money.
Project manager Jack Milnes said: “The auction of promises will be a glittering occasion with loads of exciting lots on offer. However, there is still time to include more and we would be particularly interested to hear from anyone who could offer a sky dive or a wing walk.”
The event is being held at the school on Saturday, March 15 and includes a three-course meal and disco. Tickets are £30 and available directly from the school, or from Jack via jackmilnes@thespiritofgoole.co.uk
