Car park award for Monks Cross shopping centre

York Press: . .

Monks Cross Shopping, in York, has retained the Park Mark® Safer Parking Award for another year. The award is given to all car parks that have achieved the requirements of an assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association.

Monks Cross has more than 1,000 spaces for cars and nearly 300 spaces for cycles. It is patrolled daily by security staff and there is CCTV coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Katherine Sharp, centre manager at Monks Cross, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Monks Cross Shopping has been awarded the Park Mark for our car park for the seventh year running. The award demonstrates our commitment to our customers to make Monks Cross as safe as possible.”

Magicman! says...

Safe car park.... but no full length bus lane (management refuse to pay for it to be rebuilt), and no signage to remind pedestrians where the walkway is and to keep off the cycleway as it is not a shared pathway but for cycles only except at crossing points. Once those are all fixed, THEN it will be safe.
