CLEAN-UP teams have been giving a York riverbank a much-needed wash after the winter weather left it swamped with mud.
Power-washers were used by workers from City of York Council to tidy up Queen’s Staith on the River Ouse in the centre of the city, which had been left in a muddy state following recent rain and water levels.
They also cleared away debris washed up from the river in time for last night’s New Year celebrations.
