MY wife and I moved into a one-bedroom bungalow (one of four) in New Earswick. The other three had large bins but ours was only a small one.
I asked the council for a large bin, but was refused on the grounds that large bins were only supplied to families of four.
I pointed out that the other tenants had large bins, but was told the only way I could have one was to buy a bin at £35.
