COUNCILLORS Ruth Potter and Neil Barnes are to be congratulated for standing up to proposals to limit free speech by members of the public at City of York Council meetings.
Without a break in the ranks of Labour, the iron grip of the politburo would by now have forced through another anti-democratic measure to suppress views which are not in line with those of the ruling cabinet.
