Five primary school choirs joined forces to raise the roof and celebrate the coming of Christmas.
Young voices filled the air at the annual Ainsty Carols event held at Tadcaster Grammar School.
Resplendent in their santa hats, reindeer antlers and brightly coloured clothing, children from Tadcaster Riverside, Tadcaster East, Tadcaster St Joseph’s, Appleton Roebuck and St Mary’s at Askham Richard primary schools gathered together to sing Christmas songs and put everyone in festive mood.
Each school presented its own selection of well-rehearsed pieces and then all sang traditional carols, accompanied by the Tadcaster Grammar School Concert Band.
Samantha Buckley, Head of Visual and Performing Arts at Tadcaster Grammar School, said: “This annual event gets better and better each year.
"The standard of the singing this year was exceptional with some wonderful part singing and it was obvious that the children had really enjoyed putting their pieces together, as it really showed in their performances.”
