York Press: Pantomime stars open the new Sainsbury's Local store Pantomime stars open the new Sainsbury's Local store

THESE panto stars helped a supermarket chain unveil its new York store, which has created 22 jobs.

The opening of the Sainsbury’s Local store at Queen’s House, at the foot of Micklegate, was marked by an appearance from ex-Emmerdale actress Adele Silva, Hollyoaks’ Marcus Patrick and Any Dream Will Do star Rob McVeigh, who are all appearing in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs at the Grand Opera House.

The store’s charity partner, the Wilberforce Trust, was presented with a £1,000 cheque and pupils from Heworth CE Primary School, to which £500 of books and food is being donated, were also invited to the opening ceremony.

York Central MP Hugh Bayley was visiting the store today to meet staff.

I'm not quite sure how you 'stumble' on such images (whoops I just opened Google in a new tab, whoops I just typed "Adele Silva" into the search bar, oops I hit the enter key...!), however it seems as though I will need to allow more time on the PC tomorrow.

However for when the mini supermarket opens up in the Piccadilly White Swan building, perhaps the cast of Hollyoaks could show up for it - just the girls of course! No idea who they like!

You may recall I have defended you on a previous comment, but with all due respect do you not think that there are enough supermarkets, and we are in serious danger of being swamped by them, and as soon as a premises in the city becomes available one of the big supermarket chains decides to open what they call a 'Local', how many more are planned I wonder?

Went in there today. Best supermarket in city centre now. Plenty of choice and the aisles are nice and roomy. Mozzo's in Spurriergate need to up their game. Very poor IMO .
