York Theatre Royal is staging a family arts festival to entertain everyone.

This week’s event includes food, games and adventures and a chance to dance, sing, explore and “fight” together as part of the national Family Arts Festival.

Breakfast will be available from 10am to 11.30am every day with a serving of knitting, while lunch is from 1.30pm to 3.30pm with extra crafts on the side. Breakfast or lunch buffet is £7 including craft activities, just pay on the door.

Find out what it’s like to be part of the chorus at a singing workshop at 11.30am today with some fun songs to learn and, from 3pm to 5pm, there will be a stage combat workshop. Learn the secrets behind the battles in a practical fun session.

On Friday and Saturday there will be shows specially devised for five to 11-year-olds. Youngsters can meet characters and find out how their stories interlink.

The shows take place tomorrow at 11am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 6pm, and on Saturday at 11am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4pm).

All events will be held in York’s De Grey Rooms.
